To explore the city for real you have to approach its unique spaces. Some several special galleries and museums cannot be overlooked. These are workshops, places of creativity where art was born. It is difficult to disagree with the idea that the location and atmosphere of the workshop do not affect the author. We invite you to look at the extraordinary Museum-workshop of Teodosia Bryzh.

The History of Teodosia Bryzh is a cinematic biography of a woman who has been a partisan of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and has become an ambassador of contemporary art.

The sculptor was born in 1929 in the Rivne region. Her family was subjected to repression for her activities in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. However, thanks to a fortunate case, she was able to complete her studies and later moved to Lviv.

Here she received her diploma from the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts and became a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine, thus she obtained the right to get a room for a workshop. When she established her studio she was able to fulfil her original ideas. She was led by a wave of leading philosophies of new art.

Teodosia created nearly two hundred sculptures. Especially interesting are pieces related to historical subjects (princes Sviatoslav and Yaroslav Mudryi,
King Danylo, Yuriy Drohobych, Taras Shevchenko, Hryhoriy Skovoroda and others). She also created the unique group of works devoted to the drama extravaganza «Forest Song» by Lesya Ukrainka.

It is important to note that the workshop was usually a meeting place for dissidents and famous figures of Lviv: Ivan Drach, Ivan Dziuba, Fedir Stryhun, Ivan Mykolaychuk, Bohdan Horyn, Lina Kostenko were frequent guests here.

We encourage you to immerse in a real artistic space. We know the best way how to do this. A cup of coffee with the head of the museum Lesya Beznisko will reveal you all the mystery of this place.
